Violin Trill Drill: Double Trouble
We’ve finally reached part 3 of 3! It’s time to take our trill preparation from the first video and the Trill Drill from the second video to the third level, with what I call “Trill Drill: Double Trouble”! Hello Nathan,
It is nice to hear from you. Thank you for these videos. I have read an article where Aaron Rosand talks about effective practice. He says that trills exercises are a good warm-up and that they can strengthen the left hand. I also have a friend who suggested that I practice Kreutzer’s trills, which I have been doing, but not consistently. I will start doing your Trill drill. I really need something that will help my left hand. Thank so much for sharing these exercises.
Yes, the Kreutzer trill studies are wonderful, especially for working on trill endings, which are a challenge on their own. But the Kreutzers can be difficult to practice if you don’t already have a great trill! Kind of a Catch-22. So this Drill may be a stepping stone.
thank you for all your help
